I’ve always had trouble putting into words what you’ve said here so
eloquently, Mr. Elias. It’s about so many things. The makam, yes, quarter
tones, and all of that. I feel my brain is wired around both Oriental and
Western music. I am an Albanian-American and grew up listening to both
modes in the US. My auntie who is very wise, once said something which made
a profound impact on me, many years ago: “We all have east and west within
us – right and left brain!”. Your orchestra is sensational.

Western music owes its instrumetns and some music tones to Andalusia, in
which many instrument were developped “look up Ibn Ziryab”
