No one will argue that the economy today is hotter than ever. So is the climate. With each year getting warmer than the last, the average middle –class consumer must find ways to stay cool without breaking his budget. The American Standard Air Conditioning unit can be a bank balance’s best friend. With so many folks looking for work or working for cut wages, finding ways to make your dollar go further is imperative. For the most part, no matter where an individual lives in the United States it gets hot in the summer. Swamp coolers, (cooling units that bring down the temperature by cycling water through a filter and then blowing the mystified air into the home or office), only work when humidity is not a factor. With the change in weather this is becoming increasingly difficult to find even in the U.S. A. Areas like Las Vegas, NV, which are smack dab in the middle of the desert, are kicking out humidity numbers in the 20 plus percentile, now. American Standard Air Conditioning helps out with not only being reasonably priced, ranging in the $ 1700′s to start. They are also known for their low maintenance factor. This is extremely important because as most anyone knows, it quite often is not the initial cost that hurts you, but the upkeep. Just ask anyone who owns a Mercedes Benz or Maserati. Another aspect of economy for these air conditioners is the low cost of usage. Most consumers find that after replacing their old units with one of these their utility bills drop by at least half. With this in mind, consider how little time it would take for these to pay for themselves. Basically, if you are paying say $ 250 a month for electricity for a 1500 square foot home before the installation, and then only $ 125 afterwards your air conditioner would pay for itself in a little over a year. After that, the savings is nothing more than gravy. Who couldn’t use an extra $ 125 a month? The units are also ecologically friendly. With an ozone free refrigerant, there is no danger to making an even larger hole in the fragile ozone layer if it escapes. Purchasing an American Standard Air Conditioning unit only make good fiscal sense, when you come right down to it. Think about it you’re saving money and the environment all with one installation. How can anyone say no? Massage refers to the active manipulation of superficial and deep layers of muscle and connective tissue to bring forth relief, promote healing and/or enhance its strength. The term, in itself, means different things when translated into different languages –in Latin (massa), it means “mass or dough”, in French (massage), it denotes “friction of kneading”, and in Arabic (massa), it implies “to touch, feel or handle”. However, it is generally understood as the introduction of pressure, vibration, or tension to the body, so that certain processes are hastened or impaired. Other tissues targeted during massages are the joints, tendons, ligaments, lymphatic system and some organs of the gastrointestinal system. The areas that are usually worked on are the feet, fingers, hands, knees, forearms and elbows. Now, this mode of achieving wellness has been around since ancient civilizations, with existing records in Rome, India, Japan, Greece, China, Egypt and Mesopotamia. In earlier times, it was actually considered as a form of medicine. Today, it is labelled as an alternative medical option, with more than 80 known modalities, practiced all types of health facilities and spas around the world. It was during the 19th century when massage’s influence grew in the United States. But because of medical advancement, its rise was halted between the 1930s and 1940s. And, it was only in the 1970s when massage therapy was picked up again, upon the realization of its significance in enhancing athletic performance. There are currently more than 300,000 medical or physical therapists in the country and about 1,300 programs running to make them competent in providing clients with the correct physical treatment. Some of the subjects included in the curriculum are anatomy and physiology, first aid, CPR, kinesiology, and massage techniques, to name a few. And despite the fact that it is a freely practiced craft in other countries, most states in the U.S. require practitioners to get a license before they begin working as therapists. So far, forty-three states, five Canadian territories and the District of Columbia are imposing strict regulations on the industry – requiring professionals to get certifications, licensing and medical work up first – to prevent any form of malpractice, harassment, and cross contamination. Currently, massage therapy is an $ 11 billion dollar industry in the United States, receiving more than 114 million requests per year. It experiences a huge following among Americans because of its physical and psychological benefits, and it is particularly popular among 25 to 35 year old men. Back in 2007, there were already 15,500 spas in the country, employing more than 340,000 people. With an annual growth rate of 17% and an increase rate in employment opportunities forecasted at 19%, it is apparent that there is no stopping the practice anytime soon. The average charge for a one hour massage is usually $ 63. And depending on the materials used and the severity of the condition or the intensity of session, this could very well go up to as much as $ 500 or $ 1000 for a 60 minute treatment. For instance, an exclusive diamond massage costs around $ 315 for 75 minutes. For more information about massage Ahuntsic and massage therapy in montreal visit our website massotherapieahuntsic.ca. It is normal that most of teachers and parents want to have eyes in the back of their head to see what is happening behind them. Their wish now can become true when a professor at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts has agreed to install a camera in the back of his head and it will show everything he sees to the public. The Iraqi-born professor and artist Wafaa Bilal has just undergone a surgery to install the camera. This is a project commissioned by the Arab Museum of Modern Art in Qatar. The project called “The 3rd I” will take photographs each minute of Wafaa Bilal and these images will be streamed live to the museum. Wafaa Bilal, the Iraqi-born artist is now a photography professor at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Bilal is now co-operating with the Arab Museum of Modern Art in a project called “The 3rd I” Wafaa Bilal has had a camera implanted in the back of his head. It will capture daily activities even when he takes a shower or walks down the street All the images that are captured by the waterproof camera will be shown to the public and transmitted to a new Qatari museum called Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art The surgery to insert the titanium plate inside the head of Bilal was carried out at a piercing studio last month.
